COMPANY PROFILE

Massage Time Australia Pty Limited is a Sydney-based soft tissue therapy practice specialising in soft tissue therapy for the alleviation of aches, pains, and injuries, and the maintenance of optimal neuromuscular function.

Massage Time is structured with an Applied Soft Tissue Therapy Division (clinically based practice) and a Soft Tissue Therapy Training Division. Operationally, in the area of Applied Soft Tissue Therapy, our primary focus is maintaining and improving human function and performance. This is achieved through our treatment methods, soft tissue maintenance, enhanced sports recovery, and injury management programs.

Clinically, Massage Time provides a complete primary care based practice for Soft Tissue management. Operating 6 days a week in the Sutherland Shire of Sydney, we provide up to 100 appointments per week for the greater community, as well as, providing Soft Tissue management for businesses, sports clubs, and members of the greater community. As well as this, our service to our clients extends to offering advice and insights on biomedical, health, and fitness issues.

In our Soft Tissue Therapy Training Division, we provide Graduate and Post-Graduate lectures, seminars, and workshops, thereby, fortifying our comprehensive approach to students and practitioners of manual therapies, as well as, health and fitness specialists . Our range extends from general interest courses through to highly Advanced Post-Graduate courses.

Massage Time has an ongoing commitment to establishing and maintaining responsible advocacy of broad based public participation in physical activity. Specifically, our central tenet includes advocating the importance of regular moderate physical activity for public health as supported by the Australian Health Minister’s Advisory Council (1997), the World Health Organisation (Position Statement 1995), and the US Surgeon General (Position Statement 1996).

Our fundamental belief is that the current approach by the health professions to their clients, falls short of client expectations and requirements, we believe that the massage and soft tissue therapy professions are undergoing enormous change not unlike the fitness service industry. We see this as a major opportunity to widen our competitive edge for the informed and aware client of the 21 st century. To remain profitable and allow for growth we continually evaluate the current climate of the massage and soft tissue therapy professions, and likewise, the service requirements of our clients. With this approach we will be at the forefront of massage and soft tissue therapy services now, and into the future.

GEOFF WALKER

Background

Geoff’s experience, understanding of, and respect for the role of soft tissue therapy in human physiology provide him with an unyielding passion for his profession. His distinct awareness of the science and skill underpinning soft tissue therapy have afforded him the opportunity of continuing to be vitally passionate in his private practice, providing soft tissue therapy for people of all ages, all experiences, and all abilities.

As well as this, Geoff has been appointed to a variety of high profile, elite level sports, including having been contracted as principal Soft Tissue Therapist to the leading Super 12s, N.R.L., and N.S.L. clubs.

Geoff has been training and assessing students in public and private health institutes and colleges since 1993. With the experience of having completed more than 10,000 treatment sessions, Geoff draws on this vast experience when training students in the disciplines of massage, soft tissue therapy, health, and fitness; education and training remains an absolute passion for Geoff.

More recently, Geoff has been instrumental in developing new, nationally accredited courses that are now the national standard for Massage and Soft Tissue Therapy. To complement and ensure complete quality, he has been contracted by the largest of educational providers to develop Training Manuals and Assessment Manuals to facilitate the training and assessment of these nationally accredited massage and soft tissue therapy courses.
